Astrology, Art or Science?
For the peoples of the ancient civilizations of 4000 years ago or more, their work in developing and defining astrology was undoubtedly work of a scientific nature. These ancient scientists examined carefully the relationship between the natural phenomena which they observed all around them and certain recurring celestial events. This systematic, didactic and scientific observation was firmly based on a study of the laws of cause and effect and is an method of observation which we still use today, even if modern science and scientists tend to laude technological advancement over the accomplishments of our ancestors. Furthermore, astrology is a way of living, it is the particular and unique characteristics that each of us possess and our exploitation of these characteristics during the moments that we live and in the circumstances in which we find ourselves that determines the person that we are or aspire to be. These last factors are so very important and are not necessarily defined at the moment of birth and in the natal chart. On the other-hand the fact that we are presented with one choice and not another, which leads to one situation and not another can create these same circumstances. Whatever the departure point may be, astrology allows us to learn to differentiate the factors which are explicit to our natal chart and those which those which stem from the complex interaction with the choices and opportunities we face on a daily basis and helps us to understand that this complex interaction is an art and way of living our lives. In order to grasp and translate this theory it becomes necessary to apply ourselves to hypotheses, method and calculation, principles which we also find in the foundations of modern science.

This interactivity, which we feel within ourselves and see in the nature around us, is at the root of astrology. Understanding the changing of the seasons, the turning of the tides and the natural process of birth and growth and comprehending our place in this complex and beautiful web is at the foundation of our astrological way of life. |

How are horoscopes determined?
Without your precise birth details, your horoscope will obviously not be 100% accurate. A horoscope is calculated by assuming that the Sun is exactly central to your particular sign of the Zodiac. From this assumption the planets are then placed according to this position and the Houses of the Zodiac are placed with the house of your particular sign starting the sequence of Twelve. Your horoscope therefore is able to give you the a flavor of your configuration and a good start to your day but cannot provide the nuances a fully comprehensive chart is able to do.

Where did exactly did Astrology come from?
Astrology has been developed in various forms through about all of the civilizations of the world. Eastern Astrology differs from the astrology that we practice in the West but the ideas and concepts stay the same on a fundamental level. The terminology which we commonly use in order to interpret our astrology originates from Greek analysis of the stars. Following the Hellenistic period in ancient Greece, Greek was established as the universal language of astrology and thus spread to Rome and throughout the Roman Empire. Influences from India and even the Far East, turned the Eastern Roman Empire into a melting pots of Hellenistic and Sanskrit astrology and led eventually to the development of a particular Islamic astrology. The word astrology itself is a Middle English adaptation of the Greek 'astrologia', or the study of the stars, whereas the word horoscope represents the action of analysis and come from the Latin 'horoscopus' and the Greek 'horoskopos' , 'hora' meaning hour or season and 'skopos' meaning observer or watcher.

What does the term 'Age of Aquarius' mean?
Due to the precession of the equinoxes, the Sun enters into a new 'vernal' equinox every 2160 years. The Sun is currently in the Sign of Pisces, rising yearly into this constellation on the event of the Spring Equinox and thus we find ourselves in the ages of Pisces. The Sun will not enter into another Vernal Equinox until the year 2377, however as the Sun gets nearer and nearer to the Pisces / Aquarius cusp we should be able to see some of the effects of this new age, hence the term the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius. This is a careful term as much controversy surrounds the calculations of the astrological ages, the Age of Aquarius or at least its influences could then begin as early as 2060 or 2100 or as late as 2377. Pisces, an age of technology and advance will give way eventually to Aquarius, a age of brotherhood and harmony.

I am interested in a compatibility report and would like it to be as exact as possible but I do not have the precise birth time of my partner. What should I do?
Above all, do not worry. It is usually sufficient to enter the birth date. In this case it is assumed that the time is noon. In this way the only possible difference can come from the movement of the moon in your partners configuration and as the moon moves about 12 degrees a day by putting the moon at midday there should only be an inaccuracy of 6 degrees at this point. In other words, your partners chart will be 98% correct.

If a child is born by caesarian section and is therefore goes through an induced birth how does this affect the child's astral configuration?
First of all the child's astrological configuration is entirely right for him or her, it concerns the exact moment of birth no matter how the child was born. The child's Sun Sign may be changed from what was originally predicted, however bearing in mind that the Sun Sign is above all only a starting point for an astral calculation and that therefore any alteration to the natural birth process close to the due date produces very little nuance in the chart, a birth by cesarean section should really not be a concern as far as the child's chart is concerned. A newborn child is a joyous, unique event, whether the birth be through intervention or not.
